The Ins and Outs of Child Behavior: How did we get here and what do we do now?

May 13, 2023 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Title: The Ins and Outs of Child Behavior: How did we get here and what do we do now?

 Presented by:

Nancy Raitano Lee, PhD , Associate Professor & Licensed Psychologist & Kelsey Csumitta, M.S., Doctoral Student  Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA

Summary:

The reasons children behave in certain ways are influenced by a multitude of factors. For children with Down syndrome, there are particular factors that parents may find useful to consider when trying to help their child find a way “out” of challenging behaviors. During this 60-minute presentation, psychology researchers from Drexel University will break down the “ins and outs” of child behavior. Specifically, they will describe approaches for identifying the causes of challenging behaviors and strategies to help reduce these behaviors and increase more adaptive behaviors. The session will conclude with a live Q&A, and attendees are encouraged to send in their questions about child behavior in advance of the presentation so that the speakers can address specific questions.
